Frequently Asked Questions
Video upscaler FAQ
An AI video upscaler raises a video's resolution and uses a trained model to rebuild detail, so the result looks sharper than simple resizing.
VideoUpscaler runs FlashVSR on cloud GPUs. Its authors describe it as "the first diffusion-based one-step streaming framework towards real-time VSR" (Zhuang et al., arXiv:2510.12747). The code is open source on GitHub.
You pay per second of video: 1 credit for 1080P, 2 for 2K and 3 for 4K, rounded up to the next whole second. The exact total is shown before processing.
You can try it for free. New accounts get 10 free credits. Until you buy a plan or credits, newly processed videos include a small “videoupscaler.co” watermark in the top-right corner.
Only videos processed before your first purchase include a watermark. After you buy a plan or credits, new results have no watermark. To get a watermark-free version of an earlier result, process the original video again.
VideoUpscaler accepts MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and M4V files up to 500 MB, which covers footage from most phones, cameras and screen recorders. AVI, WMV, FLV and TS files are not supported yet: convert them to MP4 first with a free tool like HandBrake.
1080P, 2K (1440p) and 4K (2160p). See real 4K examples.
Upscaling rebuilds detail from what is in the source. Heavy compression, motion blur or a very small original limit how sharp the result can be. Start from the best copy you have, and for very low-resolution clips try 1080P before 4K. More tips in our guide on how to upscale a video.
It adds plausible detail the model has learned, which is why the result looks sharper than simple resizing. It cannot recover information the camera never captured. Learn how video super resolution works.
Yes. 480p to 1080P suits old camcorder, DVD and early phone footage. See real examples on our video enhancer page.
It depends on the length of the video and the resolution you choose. Longer videos and 4K take longer. Paid accounts can also queue up to 10 videos in one batch. Finished videos are saved to your history.
The credits for that job are refunded to your balance automatically.
